The Conga Room is proud to present its first annual “Dia De Los Muertos” arts and music celebration at Downtown LA’s The Conga Room @ LA LIVE. The night will feature a special art exhibit by local artists Sergio Arau whos work can already be seen on the Conga Room’s interior walls. What is “Dia De Los Muertos”? Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday that focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have passed. Dia De Los Muertos is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where it attains the quality of a National Holiday. The celebration takes place on November 1st and 2nd. Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts.
